Prepping Party- Day 2

So yesterday I picked Erica up and we began our prepping/ foal watch/ cooking adventure.

Today we continued the festivities with a few other bonus excursions including breakfast, the drug store, and the tack store.

We had filed our pewter micros and prepared them for pinhole and divot filling, so that today we could try Bondo for the first time to fill them! A part from nearly choking to death from the fumes, it was a great success! I want to point out that I added a Maggie Bennett Blitzen micro to the mix (as my extra NaMoPaiMo pone).

From Bondo, we moved on to breakfast at my only local restaurant and then off to the drug store to secure 5 enemas... yes. For the mares ok, no other details needed. But the biggest thrill of the day was making the 45 min journey to Woolwich, ON to go to the tack store. Woolwich is really special, first off its Mennonite country with at least 7 buggies trotting down the roads today. The tack store that we went to is also very special as its owned and run by Mennonites who make most of the equipment. Doesn't matter what discipline or idea you have, they will make it for you! They also have a great consignment section where I scored 4 halters, a skull print saddle cover, and a set of hobbles. They also had a cute set of model horse tack in a display case and it was tempting!

We did night check and fed everyone their supper (no foals) and groomed my 30 year old mare, Knickers (the subject of my NaMoPaiMo). This evening our plan was to make Katsu Don (pork cutlet bowls) but we uhh, sort of snacked all day. So thats our plan for tomorrow. Currently we are priming our 4 micros and letting them cure (while we watch Anastasia).

Fingers crossed that tonight is the night for foals.
