February is National Model Horse Painting Month... but you already probably knew that. For those that didn't here is the link: http://braymere.blogspot.ca/p/national-model-painting-month-namopaimo.html

Last year I didn't think I would have time and didn't sign up. But before the deadline I did manage to complete a drastic custom welsh pony on the Bouncer mold. I just wasn't eligible for prizes. Oops. This year though, this year I will sign up AND finish within the deadline!

I was planning and working on a drastic custom on the Breyer Marwari... but quite honestly I am frustrated with his progress. I'm temporarily setting him aside. This year instead I will be painting a Maggie Bennett micro mini Amber pewter. Yikes, my first pewter, my first micro, and only my second bay! I'm no model horse artist, I've finished a handful at this point and none are making any headway outside of novice custom. Is it wishful thinking to hope that my little pewter could maybe be competitive enough for a NAN card? Lol I think I'm still a few years away from such a dream. This is what NaMoPaiMo is about though, pushing your model horse limits and encouraging others to succeed! This is not a contest but rather a collective gathering of likeminded creatives! In the words of Shiny Chariot

"Believing in yourself is your own magic!"

Good luck to all of the 200+ participants! If you are wanting to sign up but don't know if you will have the time, do it anyways. You might be like me and finish your project before the deadline!
