With the end of February upon us, Erica Ferguson and I made one last push to work on our NaMoPaiMo models. I had finished my foal earlier in the week, but still had some bonus horses to finish. So we planned one final party to round out the month - the party to push ourselves to the limits and wrap up our projects.
Our party actually started Saturday evening, so that was a bit of a write off. A few days before the party, I got a call from the vet clinic where Kiss was staying, saying that she FINALLY had her baby... 14 days late (see my Yuki post for lots of baby photos). The plan was to pick up the young family on Sunday, but we woke up to strong
winds and freezing rain. The driveway had turned into an ice rink and it was too dangerous to pick up mother and daughter. So we settled for a visit instead. It was an intense painting day and we really did get a lot done! I even managed to finish my 3 micros! But it was Erica who managed to complete her NaMoPaiMo model! Our painting party was a success and thats how it ended... or so we thought.
We planned to pick both Kiss and Yuki up the next day when the roads would be better. Instead we woke up to one of the worst blizzards my farm has ever faced. It was safe to say that Erica was stranded at my farm (still is). This also means that staff wasn't able to come in, so it was up to Erica and I to look after the 9 horses.
So, this really has been the party that hasn't ended. I'm still painting bonus horses, including my Van Gogh I won last year. Tomorrow we really do hope to be able to leave the property, pick up Yuki and maybe get a steak dinner. Here are some photos from the weekend.
