I have been watching diligently since January 3rd. We have an alarm system installed on our closest mares and a baby monitor in preparation for the big event. Yet I feel the more I
anticipate the arrival of our first foal for 2018, the more the girls hold off. I mean, #1 isn't due until January 13th, but I cant help but pace and run to the barn even at the smallest of sound. I mean, just looks at the size of Millie... and she's not due until January 28th!
On these sleepless nights though, I do get a lot of work done (when I'm not distracted by movies). I've been working on my NaMoPaiMo micro's prepping and I'm pleased so far with how clean she is! This mold is a little older, but boy is she a clean cast! Meanwhile, trouble brews in the customizing department with my marwari custom. He's in such an ugly stage that, I won't lie, I'm pretty discouraged. Perseverance is the only way to get myself through this but um... my micro feels a little less threatening at the moment.
Prepping is something that a lot of people seem to struggle with (myself included) because its tedious and can be endlessly frustrating. Look at my poor model and now look at poor me, I have so many hours of prepping ahead and I'm glad I didn't sign him up for NaMoPaiMo!
The only way to get motivated is to have a prepping party either via online or in person! It's a fun way to force yourself through the pain and agony of prepping. It helps you get to the fun stuff (actually painting). My local model club The Toronto Plastic Ponies Club frequently hosts activities like 'Hackurdays' to encourage us to not be lazy! I just wish I could go to them this month but alas... foals. Look's like I'll have to just invite a few people over and not tell them that they also have to stay up all night and foal watch with me. Muahaha.
